Nordihydroguaiaretic acid also abbreviated by NDGA is the most powerful of all antioxidants examined with revealed biological properties as a free-radical scavenger. NDGA is a non-selctive lipooxygenase inhibitor. NDGA is a potent antioxidant compound naturally found in the long-lived creosote bush. Since 1960, NDGA has with and without success been used as a food preservative, preservation of natural fibres, nutritional supplement, etc.
